RECRUITING: Toryan's final visit will be UF

Toryan Smith is one of the top linebacker prospects from the state of Georgia. Smith plays linebacker for Rome (Ga.) High School and they just got knocked out of the playoffs by Northside Warner Robins 14-2.

"I think I finished with around 120 tackles," said Smith. "I had a good year but I didn't make as many plays as I did as a junior. No excuses but teams stayed away from me. Overall I thought it was pretty successful and I got better at some little things.

Now he can fully focus on recruiting. He has already taken official visits to Notre Dame and Michigan. He officially visits Florida this weekend for the FSU game.

"I went to South Bend for the USC game. It was a good visit. They have awesome facilities and the Notre Dame people are very classy. I really like their future chances of winning a National Championship with coach Weis. They are holding a scholarship for me and awaiting my decision.

"I went to Michigan last weekend. That is such a prestigious place. I really like the team and the people. I fell in love with Coach Carr. He is so sincere. It was my best visit.

"I will go to Florida this weekend. I went to their junior day over the summer but I have never been to a game in the Swamp. I like the state of Florida and the weather there. I also like what Coach Meyer is doing. He is my kind of guy and I love his swagger."

Alabama is the fourth team in the Smith sweepstakes. He likes what he sees with the Crimson Tide as well.

"I have been to Alabama twice now and I don't think I will end up visiting them officially. I love Coach Kines. I trust him and I love his defense. They have been absolutely dominating except last week. I think that's the most points they gave up all season.

"Right now all four teams are equal. It will all come down to where I feel the most comfortable and where I can contribute early."
