RECRUITING: Toryan likes playing in the cold

Georgia linebacker Toryan was part of the big official visit weekend for the OSU game, and he's going on his final visit this weekend. Here's what he told GoBlueWolverine -- about the visit, and his four finalists.

Toryan Smith LB/RB 6'0 241 4.61 Rome Georgia is underrated as's #93 Southeast prospect. Toryan was part of the big official visit weekend for the OSU game. Here's what he told GoBlueWolverine about the visit.

"It was a very good visit; they did a real good job of hosting me."

"My host was Chris Graham. On Saturday night I also hung around with Morgan Trent, and (of course, the ubiquitous) with Mike Hart."

"And I talked to all the Michigan coaches. Coach Carr told me I'd redshirt my freshman year there."

As far as other official visits:

"I've been to Oklahoma and Notre Dame too (for official visits), and I'm on my way to my Florida official visit right now, as we speak" (the Florida-Florida-State game is tomorrow: Tim Tebow will also be there for his official visit, as will Jim Barrie).

Are those your finalists?

"Alabama is in it too – it's those four." He said he won't take an official visit to Alabama, because he's been there for several unofficial visits already.

Toryan, can you really see yourself going North for college?

"I actually like it up there. I'd rather play in the cold. It's so hot down here, man, it's miserable. I like the weather up there."

Smith also made it up to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Spring Game this past April.

What is your timetable for announcing?

"I'll announce my decision on ESPN on December 5th."

And who will the winner be?

"No one is leading for me right now, not really. I'd say all four are about even."
