"It was just a great overall atmosphere," Rose recalled. "My head is still kind of hurting from all of the noise. It's still kind of aggravating me. The fans are right there on top of you. So, you can feel it, the ringing in your ears. I took some Tylenol when I got home last night and some this morning. I still have it though. Overall, I had a great time."
Rose (6-5 310) is a low key guy with a business like approach to everything that he does. I first spoke with him last year after the Dragons played in the Class 3A state championship game.
"With four seniors, they'll (Florida) have a lot of young guys, so it's an open competition once the spring starts and the pre-season starts," he stated. "That's a plus. The offensive system is like we ran here (Jefferson), so it wouldn't be that hard to get used to. It doesn't really give them an edge though. Both teams really need offensive linemen, especially Florida State. They really need offensive linemen. Both teams need tackles. I mean, every team on my list is in the same situation with the depth chart and they all seem to run similar offenses to what we run."
"I couldn't really cheer and all that because Florida State is one of my top teams, so I was kind of torn," Rose added. "I just sat there and enjoyed the game. I sat next to Trent Pupello, Jamar Hornsby, Bryan Thomas, Jarred Fayson, Jim Barrie. I was there when Fayson committed. He just came out and said this is where he wanted to go, and Coach Meyer was thrilled."
The well-spoken Rose also said that he has trimmed his list to five schools. While that had nothing to do with yesterday's game, somebody within the Eastern Division is certainly going to be unhappy.
"I won't make a decision until down the road, probably signing day," he said. "My last visit is the last weekend in January. Right now, I take my first visit to Michigan next weekend. I'll go to Florida on January 21st, and Florida State on January 27th and I'm getting ready to cancel my Tennessee visit and switch that to possibly LSU and South Carolina. It's a loss of interest (with Tennessee). There's a lot of turmoil and stuff going on up there."
His visit the Knoxville was set for January 14th. He hasn't yet decided which school (South Carolina or LSU) that he would visit.
"It's going to come down to where I feel the most comfortable. All of the teams have what I'm looking for."
Right now Rose is looking for that Tylenol bottle and Phil Fulmer's phone number. He too, might enjoy a couple as well.
