"The visit to Alabama was great," said A.J. Jones from Tampa-Middleton, Fla. "I really enjoyed watching their bowl practice, and they fed us a lot of good food. I enjoyed hanging out with the players and the recruits as well."
"Alabama made up a lot of ground this weekend. Florida was my big leader heading into this weekend, and Alabama has filled a huge gap. Florida is still leading, but it's not by much. Right now I would say it's between Alabama and Florida," Jones added.
Jones was quick with his response when asked the highlights of his trip.
"Definitely the practice and hanging out with the players," he said. "It was really good for me to see how they practice and do things."
The four-star linebacker spent a lot of time with the Alabama players and said, ""My player host was Chris Keys, but I hung out with Terrance Jones and D.J. Hall a lot. I hung out with Craig Stevens a lot as well. We chilled together all weekend. It was a lot of fun. The players were telling us the truth. They know what they are doing. They kept saying Craig and I need to come to Alabama."
Jones enjoyed spending a lot of time with the Alabama coaching staff as well.
"Coach [Mike] Shula was real relaxed," Jones said. "He is real cool. He made me feel very comfortable. Coach [Dave] Ungerer is my main man. He is so funny. He is a real cool guy. Coach [Paul] Randolph is the one who is always so crunk. He is always hyped. Coach [Joe] Kines seems to know exactly what he is doing."
The 6-1, 190 pound speedster continued, "I know that Alabama has a really good program. I know the city is very nice, and I know if I went there I would alright."
Jones expects an in-home visit from the Tide staff this week and said, "Coach Ungerer said he is coming this week. Coach Shula said he is either coming this week or sometime in January."
Jones plans to take official visits to Florida and LSU before reaching a decision.
