Gators Offer Out of State OL

The Gators need to load up on both sides of the line this season. OLs WANTED!

One of the top offensive line prospects anywhere is Donovan Davis from Jackson (Miss.) Callaway High School. Davis, 6-6 and 324 pounds has written offers from Mississippi State and Florida and verbal offers from LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Clemson, Marshall and Georgia.

"Everyone that has come through here has offered him a scholarship," said Callaway Head Coach Gary Anderson. "Donovan is a great leader that will be a tackle at the next level. He is an excellent pass blocker with good footwork."

Davis is excellent in the classroom as well. He carries a 3.25 GPA and has already scored a 22 ACT. Davis wants to study computer engineering.

"I try and be a real smart player out there. I like to say I play offensive tackle with a defensive tackle's mentality."

Davis will have a busy summer. He will go to team camps at Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech. Davis will also try and attend camps at Georgia, Ole Miss and Alabama. For now, he is wide open.

"My top five schools in no order are Florida, Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee and Georgia. Education is important. So is the offensive scheme. I want to go to a school that throws the ball because I pass block the best. Location is important. I want to stay in the SEC so my family can see me play. Atmosphere and tradition will play a part in the decision as well."
