Profile 2003 - Derrick Morse (OT)

Offensive tackle prospect Derrick Morse has a few scholarship offers and Florida is in the mix. He plays for Estero (Fla.) High School and is best friends with Gator signee Randy Hand. Morse is one of the top tackles in the South.

Another good offensive line prospect from the state of Florida is Derrick Morse from Estero (Fla.) High School. Morse, 6-5 and 305 pounds, plays offensive tackle.

"I like to zone block," said Morse. "I do that well. I am quick for a big guy and I like to run block and mash people. That is a lot more fun than pass blocking. Pass blocking seems kind of easy."

Last season as a junior, Morse had 74 pancake blocks. According to Morse, he has scholarship offers from Rutgers, South Carolina and Clemson.

"I want to play for a good team and like my position coach. Right now, I am pretty open between Florida, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina and Wisconsin. All of these schools are showing a lot of interest in me."

One of Morse's former teammates and best friends is Florida signee Randy Hand. Hand has given his fellow OL some advice on the recruiting process. "He basically said if you know where you want to go to go ahead and take the offer."

Morse will attend the Down and Dirty camp this summer.
