RECRUITING: Williams is still a Gator so far

Damian Williams has been the subject of a lot of discussion amongst Florida and Arkansas fans since he made his commitment to the Gators back in August. It recently reached a peak when his head coach Gus Malzahn took an assistant job at Arkansas and his quarterback Mitch Mustain re-committed to the Hogs.

He was on campus this weekend in Fayetteville but insists that it wasn't for an official visit.

"I didn't go on an official visit, I just went to hang out with my friends Ramone Broadway and London Crawford who were on visits to U of A. It really wasn't a visit for me whatsoever," Damian Williams said.

Despite the additions of Malzahn and Mustain to the Hogs, Williams insists not much has changed whatsoever.

"Nothing has really changed from when I made my commitment. Mitchell (Mustain) was committed there previously and Andrew (Norman) was committed there even before Coach Malzahn took the job. Obviously Coach Malzahn going there is a plus for them but it's not too much more than it was before."

Florida head coach Urban Meyer was scheduled for an in-home visit with Damian to seal the deal even further but it appears that will be postponed."

"He was supposed to come Friday but that's not going to work. I have a student council commitment to do. We'll have to reschedule."

The Springdale star answered the burning question that everyone has been asking. Is there any chance that Damian de-commits from Florida and goes to Arkansas?

"I don't know. There's a chance of anything but I'm still committed to Florida."

Williams insisted that he was a Gator and nothing at this point has made him consider not honoring that pledge.
