HOOPS: Gators vs. Vanderbilt to be on PPV

GAINESVILLE - As the Florida Gators continue their successful season in men's basketball, Sun Sports and the University of Florida today announced that the February 15 game [8:00pm (ET)] featuring the Florida Gators at the Vanderbilt Commodores will be made available live via pay-per-view (PPV) to viewers of participating cable systems throughout Florida.

The live PPV airing will be in addition to Sun Sports' taped presentation of the game airing later that night at 10:00pm and the next day at 2:30pm.

Per Southeastern Conference television contracts, when an SEC team does not have its game selected for live telecast by one of the SEC's television partners, it is permitted to televise that game live on a statewide basis only on pay-per-view, provided that the SEC's rightsholder, Jefferson-Pilot, grants a special exemption allowing the SEC team to televise the game in its home state. Therefore, this game cannot air live on Sun Sports or FSN Florida, but can be made available in Florida to cable and satellite systems to deliver via pay-per-view.

Larry Vettel and Bill Koss comprise Sun Sports' Florida Gators basketball telecast team and will provide commentary for the pay-per-view presentation.

Cable systems in Florida offering the games on pay-per-view will designate a channel location, separate from Sun Sports' channel, for the pay-per-view presentations. Viewers should call/contact their local provider for further details.
