Scouting Reggie Nelson (Ath)

Without question, Reggie Nelson is one of the best prospects from the state of Florida. He is extremely impressive on both sides of the ball. The bottom line is that Mr. Nelson is a playmaker and the best football player on Palm Bay High School right now. On Monday, I will have a scouting report on his teammate, Joe Cohen.

Reggie Nelson is simply a playmaker on both sides of the ball. He plays linebacker, safety, and wide receiver. Nelson is also dangerous returning kicks and blocking kicks. The bottom line is that he is always around the ball and making big plays. Offensively, he is a dangerous big receiver with good speed and hands. Nelson is aggressive in the air and not afraid to go over the middle. He is more of a North-South guy rather than an elusive player with the ball in his hands. Defensively, he plays 100 miles per hour. Sometimes, in fact, he is a little too aggressive and over runs plays. But he shows excellent closing speed and he is not afraid to hit you. Nelson pursues the ball exceptionally well and fights off blocks to stuff the run. He could play safety or grow into a linebacker at the next level. It would not surprise me to see him play receiver at the next level. Nelson is just a superior athlete and is the best player at Palm Bay High School.
