TE To Visit Florida?

[MEDIA:32874]<BR>The Gators need a tight end or two and this one should visit soon. He is considered one of the nation's very best.

One of the top prospects from the Midwest is tight end Louis Irizarry from Youngstown (Ohio) Ursuline High School. He is big and athletic. Last season, he caught 31 passes for over 500 yards and 7 scores.

"I have speed to get by the linebackers and my hands are good," said Irizarry. "That is what defines me. I catch everything and I am also a good blocker. I am trying to get bigger and stronger. I want to get to the 255-260 range in college and maintain my same speed."

Irizarry is currently 6-5 and 230 pounds. He runs consistently between 4.6 and 4.7. He has great academics (3.9 GPA and 24 ACT) and lots of scholarship offers.

"Right now, I would say I have 15-20 offers. My top two schools are Ohio State and Notre Dame. I would say Michigan is a close number three, Florida is four and Oklahoma is five. They have all offered me.

I love Coach (Jim) Tressell at Ohio State. I think he will do great things there. I also think (Justin) Zwick will be a great quarterback at Ohio State.

"As far as Notre Dame... it's easy... it is Notre Dame. You have to look at them. Notre Dame has great tradition and a great atmosphere. You can feel coach (Ty) Willingham's presence there. Plus, they are going to open up that offense.

"As far as Michigan goes, I really like their offense and how they use the tight end."

Irizarry has already unofficially visited Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan. This summer, he plans to visit Florida in July and he is currently looking into plane fairs for Oklahoma.

"I am looking at the tight end depth charts, what is the quarterback situation like and what kind of offense these schools run. I want to see them all and weigh all the pros and cons. I need to see everything so I can sit down and make the best decision for me. After all, this will be the biggest decision of my life and set me up beyond the game of football."
