Signee Q&A: Ryan Carter (OL)

UFI continues its series of Question and Answers with Gator Football signees this week with offensive lineman Ryan Carter. In the interview he talks about his visit to Florida, his thoughts about Coach Zook and the new staff, his reaction to Stever Spurrier resigning, and much more.

What is your current height and weight?

6-5, 320

Can you talk about how you think you did this past football season?

I think I did pretty well. Good enough to be accepted to play at UF and get a scholarship offer.

Did you do any other sports this past year? How did they go?

I did a little bit of track and weightlifting. I made it to states at weightlifting. I dropped a lot of weight for football before states and I didn't even place there. I quit track half way through the season to focus on football.

Will you talk about your official visit to UF?

I went to homecoming week and I went to the game and went out with the guys and came back the hotel and got some sleep and then the next day I talked with the coaches and the counselors.

What do you think of Coach Zook and the staff he has assembled?

What are your plans for this summer regarding training?

Next Tuesday I report for Summer B so I will be training with them up there.

Talk about what you plan on majoring in.

I am going to get my bachelors in arts and business and a minor in communications

As a freshman do you plan on redshirting and what are your goals for your freshman year?

I don't know yet [about red-shirting]. I know if I train as hard as I can I will have a good shot at whatever coach wants [as to whether to red-shirt or not]. I want to make the traveling team and I hope I will be good enough to start.

Were you at the Orange and Blue Game? What did you think?

Yes. I thought it was pretty good. I went to a week of practice also. I liked it. They looked very organized and
