OL Favors the Gators

[MEDIA:32874]<BR>Florida needs OLs and this one favors the Gators. It sounds as if an offer is looming soon for this Sunshine State standout.

Another Florida offensive line standout is Luke Lathan from Orange Park (Fla.) Clay High School. Lathan, 6-5 and 295 pounds, is being recruited as a guard and tackle, depending on the school and their schemes.

"I play both positions for my high school team," said Lathan. "Right now, I am more of a run blocker because we are a "Wing T" team. I am hoping we pass more this coming season."

According to Lathan, he has scholarship offers from Georgia Tech and Wake Forest with another one looming.

"I just camped at Florida and I think they offered me. Coach (Ron) Zook said he hopes this is the beginning of a long relationship and that I should come and visit as often as possible because he will make me a Gator. Right now, I would say Florida is my leader. Florida is also the first school that showed interest in me last year. Jimmy Ray Stevens used to write me and recruit me.

"I also like Tennessee, South Carolina, Miami and Wake Forest. I am open to go anywhere and location doesn't matter. I want to go to a good program that is well known and where the coaches are friendly."

Lathan, 6-5 and 295 pounds, bench presses 365, squats 475 and power cleans 300. He carries a 3.5 GPA and has already scored a 990 SAT. Lathan was recently voted the MVP of Florida's camp. This past weekend, he camped at South Carolina. He has also camped at Wake Forest, Tennessee and Clemson.
