RECRUITING: Aiken to visit UF for Spring Game

Kamar Aiken is one of the top two-way prospects in South Florida this year. At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Aiken combines excellent size and speed (he finished 5th at the district track meet last week with a 200m run of 22.88) and has a big time upside.

As a junior last season, four of his 10 regular season catches on offense went for touchdowns. Defensively, he had over 50 tackles.

"It doesn't matter to me what position I play in college," Aiken said. "I just want to be on the field. I think as a receiver I have better jumping ability than most guys and I'm able to find the ball better in traffic."

The talented junior started his sophomore year at receiver before starting both ways as a junior. He's quickly emerging as one of the state's top prospects at his positions.

"Florida, Auburn, and Virginia have already offered me," he said. "Those three and Miami are really my favorites right now. I also like LSU and Georgia maybe too.

Aiken spoke about the two in-state programs.

"I've always liked UM but Florida's recruiting me the heaviest right now," he said. "I get a lot of text messages and stuff. They just seem to want me more. The new receivers coach at UM wants to see me first and I think they'll be here in the spring. Friday, I'm going up to Gainesville to watch their spring game with my head coach, Emeka (Nwankwo), Xay (Stinson), and Akeem (Auguste)."

Aiken plans on attending the All-American Combine at FAU on May 13.
