"I use my power and speed," said Edwards. "I have some quickness too. They say I have C.O.D. or good change of direction. I am one of those backs that is best in the 4th quarter when defenses tend to get tired. That is the time I want the ball."
Last season as a junior, Edwards rushed for 2,300 yards and 30 touchdowns. In regards to recruiting, Edwards claims about two dozen offers from such schools as Maryland, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Miami, USC, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
"Right now, I like Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida and Maryland. I am looking at playing time, coaching staffs, offensive scheme and how comfortable I am. Whatever school I choose will be my new home and I have to feel like I joined a big family. I am a team player and that is what I am looking for in a school. Right now, I just want to sit back and let the recruiting process come to me. This is going to be a big challenge to figure it all out. I am wide open."
Edwards camped earlier at Maryland and next month is plans on camping at Michigan State.
"Maryland has a great staff and I really liked the camp. It gave me a good chance to evaluate the staff. They are like family there and very down to earth. There is some pressure for me to stay in-state. Everyone wants me to play at Maryland and I have a bunch of friends that will be going to school there. We'll see what happens."
Edwards wants to possibly visit Athens and UGA this summer. He has an uncle that lives in nearby Kennesaw, Georgia.
