RECRUITING: Big OL on Gators' list

Branden Curry is coming off a strong junior season at Boyd Anderson H.S. At 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds, Curry was a first team All-County pick last season and didn't allow a sack all season.

"I play with good technique thanks to a great O-Line coach," Curry said. "He deserves all the credit."

Curry, who also throws the shot put and discus in track, is getting recruited by several schools.

"Florida's recruiting me very hard," he said. "I get a text message every morning and every afternoon from Doc Holliday. He said they haven't offered any offensive linemen yet and that I'm definitely on their list."

The talented big man took in Florida's spring game two weekends ago and came away impressed.

"It was a real good experience," he said. "The people are real nice. They were saying 'Welcome to the Swamp,' and stuff like that. It was nice."

Curry, who does not yet have any offers, has three others to round out his early list of favorites.

"I also like Oklahoma, LSU, and Florida State and they're all recruiting me," he said.

Curry plans on attending the All-American Combine at FAU on May 13.
