Morant Working Hard

[MEDIA:32874]
Tranell Morant is going to have a big senior year. The defensive end from Braddock High School in Miami is one player to keep an eye on this season. Florida is a team on his short list.

One defensive end prospect that should have a break out season is Tranell Morant from Miami (Fla.) Braddock High School. Morant has only played a half season of football (6 games)... in his entire life. Last season, he came out for football late after the coaches convinced him to play. He was the school's top basketball player. Now, football is his ticket to a college scholarship.

"NC State, Rutgers, Missouri and Kentucky have offered me a scholarship," said Morant. "Florida, Miami and FSU are showing interest, especially the 'Canes and Gators. Right now, I like NC State, Missouri, Florida and Miami and I am open."

Morant is now 6-5.5 and 256 pounds. He continues to work hard off the field.

"I have been hitting the weights very hard so I can be ready to have a great senior year. I have to take advantage of the opportunity I have. I have great size and speed and I am blessed to have found the game of football."

Morant plans on attending camps at Auburn and Florida State in July. He has already camped at NC State and Miami.

"I did real well at Miami and really showed out."
