"I was talking to Florida this evening and Coach [John ‘Doc'] Holiday told me he offered me a scholarship," said Culliver. "My coach was talking to me earlier about it during school time and he said they wanted my number and everything. He said they would give me a call and they did."
Virginia Tech is the odds on favorite to follow suit. The Hokies have picked up their recruiting efforts with Coach Mike O'Cain speaking to Culliver weekly – if not more.
The Gator tender puts a new spin on Culliver's recruitment, which supposedly ended in early April.
"It always makes it hard because people give scholarships and people are still interested even though you're committed," said Culliver. "I'm still committed to [N.C.] State, but I'm still open to other things. I just got to do what's best for me."
On June 3rd, Culliver is planning to unofficially visit Florida, and then three days later take a trip to Clemson. He also plans to camp at N.C. State.
As a junior at Garner (N.C.) High School, Culliver played strong safety where he totaled 127 tackles, seven sacks, and two interceptions.
