The Gator coaching staff had been evaluating Waggener during most of his freshman campaign and made their official offer on Tuesday. Waggener had a strong freshman year, throwing for 1939 yards and 18 touchdowns while completing 61% of his passes.
Citrus Head Coach Kevin Emerson is excited for Waggener's future. "Brian is a self-made player. He is one of the hardest and most committed players on our team. His hard work and dedication has resulted in this opportunity. He does very well in the classroom and is able to balance the workload of football as well as school," he said.
