During his four days in Gainesville he had a chance to show his speed and athletic skills while checking out the Florida campus and football program.
"It was a pretty good camp, I liked it down there," Quan Sturdivant said about his time at the University of Florida. "I was there from Sunday night to Wednesday. It was a great campus and has a nice feel to it.
"I think they were impressed with my speed and size. I am very athletic. I worked out with the linebackers for a day and will probably play outside linebacker in college. I worked out with Coach (Charlie) Strong a little bit, but he didn't say very much."
Sturdivant also got to meet a couple of Florida players that he feels he can relate to.
He is the starting quarterback and safety for his high school team and the big time baller is not ready to list any favorites right at this particular moment. He's trying to look at every school objectively.
"I don't have a list of favorites right now," he said. "I also went to Carolina's camp last Friday. I worked out at both quarterback and linebacker there. I will also visit South Carolina this summer. I don't know where any of my official visits will be."
He had a good year in the classroom as a junior and is looking to improve on a qualifying test score. Sturdivant is not ready to limit his options whatsoever.
"School went pretty good this year," he said. "It got over fast. I took the SAT and made a 780, I think that will be good enough, but I will probably take it again."
Quan Sturdivant is likely to go underappreciated in recruiting circles because he is playing out of position from where he will play in college. Physically he has the making of a truly special player and the attitude to match.
