Gator Hoops Picks Up Verbal

[MEDIA:32875]
Lee Humphrey told us at Nike Camp that he thought he was on the verge of a decision. Well, after deliberating for a week, he's reached a verdict.

Humphrey Joins Appleby

The Florida Gators achieved their two recruiting goals of the summer. Just a few days ago, the Gators accepted a commitment from their top point guard target, Ryan Appleby. On Sunday, they found a friend in the backcourt for Appleby.

Maryville, Tenn., guard Lee Humphrey insured that Appleby would have a roommate next season in Gainesville.

"I got off the phone with Billy Donovan today and I committed to him," Humphrey said. "I was pretty sure that I was going to go [earlier in the month]. The past few days I felt sure that was where I wanted to be and I committed."

Last season, Humphrey averaged 22 points a game as a junior. He's coming to Gainesville to provide consistent play beyond the arc. He's a shooter by trade and that's exactly what Donovan and his staff will ask him to do.

Humphrey confirmed that Appleby did in fact commit to Florida.
