It was a game that Florida State coach Bobby Bowden would like to have back. In the end, however, Bowden justified his team's 34-7 loss at Florida with what happened a week later. After a lifeless performance against its state rival, Florida State christened the inaugural ACC Championship game in Jacksonville with a 27-22 upset of heavy favorite Virginia Tech.
