Gators kick off practice on Sunday
The Southeastern Conference's annual Media Days in Birmingham, Ala., in the last week of July is the first hint that the start of the college football season is near. Now, for the Florida Gators and their fans, it is here. Practice starts Sunday at the UF practice field and the Sept. 2 opener against Southern Miss is now only a month away.

Prepare to be wowed in 2007 by Nick Calathes
Dribbling in place, 17-year-old hoops prodigy Nick Calathes sized up the defense in front of him. A defender closed into his space. The 6-foot-5 Calathes reacted with a nifty spin move, opening a path through the lane.

Florida Gator Mike Peterson

Peterson has carried the Jags' D
You probably don't know that Mike Peterson's first name is actually Porter (after his father). He doesn't care for anyone in the Jaguars' locker room except college teammate Fred Taylor to address him as "Porter."
