[MEDIA:32874]
Robert Lane is one of the Elite quarterbacks in America. Right now, he has three favorite teams, one of which is the Florida Gators. Lane, from Louisiana, has also scheduled his official visit to UF.

Louisiana quarterback Robert Lane is one of the best in the nation. Lane, from Neville High School, just participated in Student Sports' Elite 11 Camp out in California.

"There is only one word to describe that camp," said Lane, "awesome! The best part was meeting the guys and making new friends. We all got along so well.

"I thought I did well out there. Everyone was so good. It was hard to judge yourself against the others but it seemed as though we all had our shining moments. I learned some good stuff, some drills and the classroom work was great."

Lane's roommate was Justin Midgett from Florida, who is committed to Florida. Speaking of Florida, they are one of Lane's three leaders at this time in regards to recruiting.

"Right now, my three favorite teams are LSU, Auburn and Florida.

"LSU has done just a good job of recruiting me. I really like Coach Fisher and Coach Saban. Plus, their baseball program is top-notch. I can say the same thing about Auburn. I love their staff and their baseball program is super.

"Florida is Florida. They will always be good and I will be watching them very closely. I also like Ole Miss and Colorado."

Lane camped at LSU this summer and went to Auburn's baseball camp. Right now, he has one official visit set up to Florida (9/7) for when the Gators host the Hurricanes. He also visited Colorado on his way back from the Elite 11 camp.

For now, Lane has a timetable to make the first big decision. Next June, he will have another because Lane is one of the best baseball prospects in America.

"I want to make a commitment before October. I will worry about the other decision later. Right now, I am in football mode."

Lane, 6-3 and 210 pounds, also plays 3rd base. Last season he hit .518 with 12 home runs.
