Profile 2003 - Chavis Fochtman (OL)

Chavis Fochtman is a massive offensive tackle prospect from William Fleming High School in Roanoke, VA. At 6-6 and 320 pounds, he has the frame and weight to contribute early on the next level. He must work on his quickness to reach his full potential, but his size alone makes him a very intriguing prospect.

William Fleming went 5-5 last year, and according to Fochtman, they could be very dangerous this year. "We only lost a couple of players on either side of the ball," said Fochtman. "We lost a couple of running backs, but we're returning our quarterback and our entire offensive line. All of the guys on our defensive line will be back too." Power in the trenches is the hallmark of any championship caliber team, and Fochtman will help anchor the offensive line this year. "I play right tackle now, but I'll play any position that I'm needed. I just love playing offensive line. I love to pass protect and run over people," Fochtman said with a laugh.

While he doesn't have any formal scholarships to this point, Fochtman's size will make him a prospect that several colleges in the region will keep an eye on to see how is senior season goes. As far as his favorites, Fochtman has several. "I don't really have any favorites right now. I'm pretty much wide open to anyone. I guess the teams I'm looking at the most right now are Florida State, Virginia, Tennessee, NC State, Florida, East Carolina, Hampton, and Maryland, but like I said, I'm wide open."
