Will Lil' Bro Follow Big Bro To UF?

[MEDIA:32874]
Kirston Pittman is one of the most sought after defensive ends in the nation. His older brother, Thomas Pittman, played for the Florida Gators for one season. What will Pittman do?

p>One of the South's most highly recruited defensive line prospects is Kirston Pittman. Pittman, 6-5 and 235 pounds, is a defensive end and outside linebacker prospect from Reserve (La.) East St. John's High School. Last season as a junior, Pittman recorded 40 tackles and 12 sacks despite missing five games with a broken thumb.

"Man, I am a pass rusher," said Pittman. "I would like to play outside linebacker but that may not happen. I like putting my hand down though and coming after the quarterback. I like to be real physical and I never quit. I am going 100 mph out there."

If the name sounds familiar, it should. His older brother, Thomas Pittman, was one of the top defensive ends several years ago. He signed with Auburn out of high school but instead spent several years with the Montreal Expos. Thomas then played one season played for the Florida Gators. After one year of college football, he is now with the Cleveland Browns.

"He has been an inspiration to me. "Thomas has taught me work ethic... to work hard everyday in everything you do Our family motto is 'work hard and get paid.' He has a tatoo that says that and I am getting one too. On weekends, he would come home and go over film with me, coach me after games, show me what I did wrong and teach me stuff. It is stuff that I will never forget. I owe a lot to him."

According to Pittman, he has about two dozen scholarship offers from such football powers as LSU, Miami, Florida, FSU and Texas. For now, he remains open to the process.

"I really love Texas. I like their coaches. I also like Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, and UCLA. I am wide open and looking for a comfortable place to spend the next three, four or five years. My thing is I have to be comfortable to play at my best."

Pittman has been to games at Florida, Florida State and LSU over the last year. This summer, he did not attend any camps. He just stayed home and worked out. Pittman also worked on his other potential future career.

"I want to be a rap singer. I have been singing since the 8th grade and I have written 22 songs. They call me Pitty."

Pittman has set up one official visit so far. He will visit Florida State (1-10).
