DT Eyes the Gators

[MEDIA:32874]David Patterson is from Warrensville Heights, Ohio and he is one of the top defensive tackles in America. Patterson says he is open and it sounds like he will visit the Florida Gators.

One of the nation's top defensive tackles is David Patterson from Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Patterson, 6-3 and 282 pounds, recorded 120 tackles and 16 sacks last season as a junior.

"I used my quickness last season," said Patterson. "This year, I am going to use my quickness and power. I wrestled last year and it taught me balance. I am going to blow up blocks and cause havoc. I really loved getting after the quarterback."

According to Patterson, he has somewhere between 40 and 42 scholarship offers including ones from Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Florida, Purdue and Wisconsin

"Right now, I like Ohio State, Miami, Florida, Michigan and Maryland. I will visit Miami (10-12) for the Florida State game. I got to speak with Coach Coker and some of the other coaches the other night. I think very highly of those guys. Miami is a breeding ground for putting defensive tackles in the NFL.

"I am looking for the best opportunity for me. Playing time is important but I also want to win a national championship. I want to get my visits out of the way but I do not want to rush things."

Patterson camped this summer at Ohio State and Michigan. He ahs also unofficially visited Northwestern, Michigan State and Pittsburgh.
