Role reversal brings to mind '04 at Doak
One team struggling, the other on its way back. One team with a lame-duck coach and nothing to lose. Bobby Bowden Field, Tallahassee. Neither offense scares anyone.

Spoilers have had big role in UF-FSU series
Florida State has nothing of significance to play for against Florida on Saturday. No Bowl Championship Series. No shot at a national championship. No undefeated season.

State championship still in Florida State's sights
Unable to bring home the hardware it coveted most - another Atlantic Coast Conference championship trophy and a national championship crystal football - Florida State's football team will gladly settle for bookends.

Four likely to return for Florida Saturday
Florida may have a full lineup for Saturday's game against Florida State. Linebackers Earl Everett (sprained left ankle) and Brandon Siler (sprained left medial collateral ligament) and defensive end Jarvis Moss (suspension) are scheduled to play against the Seminoles. Receiver Dallas Baker (sprained left MCL) has made quicker progress than anticipated and could play, Gators coach Urban Meyer said Monday.

Weatherford gets starting nod
Florida State is going with experience over recent success in the decision to start Drew Weatherford at quarterback on Saturday. Weatherford has completed just 9-of-25 passes with two interceptions in the Seminoles' last two games, but his 21 career starts earned him the nod over Xavier Lee.

Siler Should Be In Lineup Vs. FSU
Florida LB Brandon Siler said Monday that his sprained left knee has healed to the point where he should be able to play Saturday at Florida State.

Tebow, Harvin lead way
Against LSU, Florida's freshmen were obvious. Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes, and Riley Cooper's big hit on a kickoff led to a safety.

Rose Bowl might like to have UF
Rose Bowl chief executive officer Mitch Dorger said Monday that Florida sits on a list of about a half dozen likely candidates to play in his game on New Year's Day.

Leak eager to face FSU for final time
Gators quarterback Chris Leak, who was recruited by Bobby Bowden five years ago, will face the Seminoles for the last time in his career Saturday.

Bowden to start Weatherford over Lee against Florida
Drew Weatherford will start at quarterback over Xavier Lee for Florida State in the annual intrastate rivalry against Florida on Saturday.

BCS logjam leaves UF in tight spot
Florida will need more than a couple of wins and the luck of the Irish to make it to the national championship game. The latest Bowl Championship Series conundrum offers the Gators no easy answer, but plenty of scenarios to keep everyone guessing from Gainesville to Ann Arbor to Los Angeles.

Scramble to play Buckeyes begins
Ohio State has earned its ticket to the national championship game. Now the Buckeyes can kick back and enjoy the pushing and shoving that's about to commence among the one-loss wonders trying to grab the other ticket.

Gator trap
Florida has flourished in the Southeastern Conference this season, winning seven of eight games to advance to the conference title game against Arkansas.
