Ryan Carter Undergoes Surgery

Ryan Carter underwent surgery today to repair cartilage damage in his shoulder.

University of Florida offensive lineman Ryan Carter underwent surgery at the Florida Surgical Center Thursday morning.

The surgery, performed by team physician Dr. Pete Indelicato, repaired cartilage damage in the left shoulder.

Carter, a 6-3, 320 pound true freshman from Clermont, Florida, aggravated a previous injury during Florida's two-a-day workouts. He will start the rehabilitation process immediately and will likely miss the season. Team physicians hope that he will be able to return to the practice field for Spring practice.

Senior free safety Todd Johnson was released from Shands Hospital today after an injury in Wednesday nights scrimmage. His MRI was normal and he will be held out of practice until he is symptom free.
