Gators Host Big Lineman

When Moses McCray picked up his offer from the Gators last month, many knew that the defensive tackle from Tampa Middleton would have Florida in the lead. After two days of trips, could the big man pull the trigger and make a commitment?

"I was thinking about it, but I never really said anything because I wasn't sure if I was ready. I really wanted to, though," said the 6-foot-4, 275-pound McCray. "It was a great trip. We were there for two days on Friday and Saturday. We got to watch them practice, but we missed their scrimmage. Still, it was pretty good. The coaches, we talked about their practice, how I was doing, and all that stuff.

"I talk to Coach Drayton a lot. We have a good relationship. He's easy to talk to and he really understands everything. He's been really down to earth."

Is McCray, who plays defensive end in high school and accounted for fifteen sacks as a junior, still thinking about making his decision even after leaving Gainesville with the Gators as far in the lead as ever before?

"I want to say yeah, but I don't want to make the wrong choice. It's been a while that I've thought about committing. I'll probably wait about a month before I committed."

With teammate A.J. Jones already on the team, McCray likes the fact he would know a current member of the Gator team should he commit for next season.

"AJ is one of my real good friends," McCray added. "I don't get to talk to have much anymore since he left to go to Florida, but we still get to text and stuff. We're really close though."
