Spring Game For Harper

Jamie Harper showed on film and in a combine setting that he is one of the top running backs in Florida, but the athlete from Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, Fla., only held one official offer. Every week, that number continues to climb as Harper now has four written offers and more on the way.

"Since then I've got offers paper-wise from Wisconsin, Central Florida, and Louisville to go with South Carolina," said the 6-foot, 205-pounder. "But verbally other schools keep saying they like everything and want to offer me but want to get through the spring."

Those schools include Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Florida, to which Harper plans on taking an unofficial visit this weekend for the Gators' spring game.

Harper is excited about the new attention, though he is not quite sure how to take it.

"At the same time, it gets aggravating too because all the talk about offers and just trying to figure out what is going on."

Through the attention, there are coaches from four schools who are helping Harper figure out just what is going on.

"I really like my relationship with coaches from Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina, and the running backs coach from Wisconsin. He was the first person I talked to in this whole thing. Coach Swinney from Clemson, he has a lot of energy, happy, and uplifting. The South Carolina coach, Coach Gillespie, is from Florida, and him and Coach Spurrier, Jr. are awesome guys. The whole FSU coaching staff is new and they're all really cool guys."

Harper hopes to develop that type of relationship this weekend with the Gator coaches, but he is still not sure what to expect from his visit.

"I really don't know that much about the visit, and I don't even know if they have film on me. They're texting me a lot, so they must know about me. Still, it should be fun."
