Decision on the Horizon for Bell

Daytona Beach (FL), Mainland HS wide receiver Antonio Bell is nearing his college decision. With offers from West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Nebraska and Florida International he has plenty to choose from.

Bell had a very productive junior season hauling in 42 catches for 878 yards and four touchdowns. He has also stayed plenty busy since the end of the season. In track he competes in the triple jump, long jump, 100m (best time 11.2) and the 4x100. Bell also averaged 11 points per game for the Buccaneers. The 6'1, 178 lb wide receiver has great hands and runs good routes.

Bell attended one junior day at the University of Florida, his third trip overall to Gainesville. He was also in attendance for two games last year against Alabama and LSU.

"I have been to Gainesville three times in the last year. It's a beautiful campus and the coaching staff treats the players real well. Coach Gonzalez is a great person and he is a real cool guy that's up front with you about the situation at Florida".

Bell has two leaders at this time, West Virginia and Tennessee.

West Virginia: "I love the offense that West Virginia runs. They like to spread the ball around and get the ball to the playmakers."

Tennessee: "Basically I like Tennessee for the same reasons that I like West Virginia. I speak to tight end coach Matt Luke and he is a real down to earth person."

Florida: "I like the Gators a lot. They have a great football program and a great school as well, just everything about it".

Nebraska: "They get the ball to the wide receivers as well and offensive lineman Cruz Barrett (former teammate) is there and talks to me about coming."

South Carolina: "Coach Spurrier speaks for himself."

Some schools showing him love that are close to extending an offer are Alabama, Florida, Miami and Florida St. The deciding factors will be early playing time, right system for his style, and academics. Bell will make his decision in the next couple of weeks. Right now he plans on attending summer camps at Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Bell compares his game to Larry Fitzgerald and carries a 3.0 GPA.
