South Georgia Defensive End Open

Four Star Defensive End Toby Jackson from Griffin (Ga.) says he is now open. With offers from such schools as Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida St, Ole Miss, Auburn, Oklahoma and many more on the way, Jackson has a lot to think about. At 6'5, 240lbs Jackson has the frame and motor to excel at the next level.

Jackson has attended two spring games; Tennessee and Georgia. He spoke about each. "Tennessee has a great environment and a great fan base that supports the team 100%; it was my second trip to Knoxville." On the University of Georgia, Jackson had this to say: "Georgia looked real good for a spring game. I was surprised at how big and fast they all were. They have a great strength and conditioning program and it was my third trip to Athens."

Jackson was able to make the trip to Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Tide's first spring practice. The highlight of the trip was the one-on-one time he spent with new head coach Nick Saban. "Coach Saban is a real laid back guy, but at the same time is a very demanding head coach. Coach Saban told me that he would use me the same way he used Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor." Another South Eastern Conference powerhouse is showing a lot of attention to the big defensive end as well. "I am receiving a ton of mail from the Florida Gator coaches right now and they are a great team. Hopefully I can get down to Gainesville this summer".

While he is very intrigued about the Alabama Crimson Tide and a chance to play for Coach Saban, Jackson states that he is very open at this time. "I am very open right now. I want to take my time and make the best decision for me and give everyone a chance to see what they have to offer."

Jackson is coming off a very productive junior season where he totaled 56 tackles with nine sacks and 13 tackles for loss. He carries a 2.6 GPA and scored a 19 on the ACT on his first attempt. Jackson is scheduled to take the SAT in May.
