Florida Offer was a Dream

Orlando (FL.) Boone high school star Jeremy Brown is one of the top defensive backs in the Central Florida area. At 5'10, 170lbs some say his size and height is a disadvantage. Don't tell him that.

"The one thing I don't lack is confidence. With a smaller frame it makes me work much harder than the guys with the 6'1 or 6'2 frame; I out work people." One thing people don't question is his 4.43 speed. Last season Brown also saw action at the slot receiver position where he hauled in 13 catches for 213 yards and six touchdowns. "I have been working out trying to improve my game in certain areas. I want to be more explosive off the line and you can always improve your route running."

Brown has offers from Florida, Auburn, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Wisconsin, LSU and many more. He has as top three of Florida, Auburn and Notre Dame.

Brown has attended the University of Florida three times and spoke about the Orange and Blue game. "It was great. I could not believe how well organized it was. I saw a few people that I knew and got to speak with Coach Charlie Strong and Coach Chuck Heater. One of the coolest things was when Coach Heater took me back to the football offices and let me wear the National Championship Ring. It had so many diamonds in it I couldn't believe it." Brown says that Coaches Strong and Heater stay in constant contact.

"The Florida players and coaches are real close. They are one big family and you don't see any separation in the team. Everyone hangs out and interacts together like a team should."

I also had a chance to talk to Jeremy's father Terrell Brown about the recent Florida offer. "I think that any kid that plays football in the state of Florida dreams about getting a scholarship offer from the big three; Florida, Florida State and Miami. When Jeremy got his Florida offer it was a true blessing and a dream come true." Father and son are not the only family members who like the Gators. "Jeremy's grandfather and uncle are also big Gator fans as well, plus all the people that we work with. It's no secret that we have them high on our list."

The Brown family has a time table on when Jeremy will make his college decision. "I will make it the week after my last official visit." Brown has all five official visits scheduled at this time.

September 1st Kansas State at Auburn
September 3rd Florida State at Clemson
October 6th Georgia at Tennessee
October 20th Southern Cal at Notre Dame
November 24th Florida State at Florida

Brown carries a 3.0 GPA and is scheduled to take the SAT on May 5th. Some other names on the board at defensive back to keep an eye on: Xavier Brewer, Brandon Harris, Terrence Parks, Ralph Bolden Jr. and TJ Bryant
