Tampa DT has a new favorite

It was only a month ago that Tampa Middleton's Moses McCray took a trip to Gainesville. At the time, all signs pointed to a possible commitment from the defensive lineman. But, oh how the times have changed. During his trip to Tallahassee last weekend for the Nike Camp, McCray got a chance to spend some time on the Florida State campus and now prefers them to the Gators.

Florida State offered McCray on Saturday to go along with offers from Maryland, South Florida, Rutgers, South Carolina, Pittsburgh and the Gators.

"I haven't really narrowed down my list at all," McCray said. "But I'm starting to like Florida State a lot. The coaches gave me a lot of attention even though they really didn't know who I was at first. It's a pretty good atmosphere, and the campus is very traditional and nice. The facilities are top of the line."

Arizona stopped by at McCray's school last Friday and he's expecting a host of visits now that spring football is underway. He said that Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, Auburn and Connecticut have all mentioned coming this week. In addition to his visits to Florida and Florida State, McCray said he also went to South Carolina's spring game last year.

"It really doesn't matter where I go," McCray said. "I just want to keep my options open."

Even though Florida has slipped on his list a bit, he still has a strong interest in the Gators, especially because of their academic programs.

"I like the campus a lot," he said. "They have a great engineering program and that's what I want to major in. I've been up there many times to visit and for camps, and I was just there for the spring scrimmage."

McCray plans on attending Florida's camp this summer and will camp in Atlanta during Memorial Day weekend. But with spring football, his attention is off of recruiting and back on his high school team.

"I want to work on my speed off the ball. I need to get faster, and I need to know the plays better."
