Clemson gaining ground

At 6-1, 175-pounds, four-star wide receiver A.J. Jenkins from Jacksonville (Fla.) Terry Parker High School is one of the top players at his position in the Southeast.

Jenkins has offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Illinois, Miami, Virginia Tech and Minnesota. Earlier this week, he spoke about his latest two offers.

"Last Friday I picked up two more offers, Clemson and Kentucky," he said.

Kentucky offered Jenkins a scholarship via text message.

"I feel that Clemson could be the right choice for me," he said. "I watched a couple of their games on TV and they do not use the big wide receivers, so I will fit right in. I have to learn more about Kentucky."

Jenkins went on to say that if he learns the offense quickly at Clemson that he will be on the field sooner than even he thinks.

He does not name a top five at this time.
