UF paying attention to Floyd

Saint Paul (Minn.) Cretin Derham Hall wide receiver Michael Floyd is becoming more familiar with the University of Florida and its coaching staff on a daily basis.

Floyd, at 6-3, 200-pounds, is coming off an incredible junior season in which he totaled over 60 catches for 1,245 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Earlier this month, Floyd did not know that much about the Gators. But, things have changed in the last two weeks.

"The Florida wide receiver coach and recruiting coordinator are in touch with me basically on a daily basis," Floyd said. "They told me that they want me to come down to Gainesville where it is hot all the time. Both coaches want me to continue to work hard in the classroom and on the field as well."

Faced with playing in 95-degree heat, Floyd had only one thing to say.

"Oh man, I would absolutely just love it."

Floyd has offers from Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Southern Cal.
