"I played real well," Barnum said. "I was playing against a real good offensive line and most of the time I was going up against Brewster and was able to get some penetration on him."
At 6-4, 260-pounds, Barnum projects to be on the offensive line.
"In the game I was playing both ways, defensive tackle and on the offensive line I was at left tackle," he said. "I prefer to play guard or center and think those are the positions that are most natural for me."
Barnum has over 17 offers at this time and has not narrowed his list at all but does have a couple of schools that knows will be there in the end.
"I can tell you one thing; Florida is one of my top schools along with Ohio State, Miami, Tennessee and Georgia Tech," Barnum said. "Coach Strong is recruiting me for the offensive side of the ball - Coach Hevesy offered me - but I think they are going to let me play a little defense as well. I haven't visited Florida yet, but I talk to a lot of current players on the team, mostly Ahmad Black and Jason Watkins."
With the relationship that he has with Black and Watkins, Barnum will be one to keep an eye on as the season progresses. Florida will look to sign three offensive linemen in this class; maybe four depending on what happens at other positions.
