New Offer for Jenkins

At 6-1, 175-pounds, four-star wide receiver A.J. Jenkins from Jacksonville (Fla.) Terry Parker High School is one of the top players at his position in the southeast.

A.J. Jenkins has tremendous talent and speed. He has been timed as low as 4.37 in the forty and has the ability to go up and take the ball away from defenders with an impressive 37-inch vertical.

Jenkins has offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Illinois, Miami, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, South Carolina, Maryland and a host of others. He spoke about his most recent offer.

"Coach Malloy from LSU offered me today [Thursday]," he said. "I am waiting right now for Coach Miles to call and confirm the offer. The written offer is in the mail."

Soon after the offer from Coach Malloy, the head Tiger himself, Coach Les Miles was on the phone with the Florida speedster.

"I just got off the phone with Coach Miles, it went real well," Jenkins said. "He told me how much he enjoyed watching my highlight tape. Coach Miles also went on to talk about how he wants me to visit over the summer. I know that LSU loves to get the ball to the playmaker's hands. Also, they had two first round draft picks at the wide receiver position which is a plus."

Jenkins knows of one more team that gets the ball in the hands of its most talented players.

"I love the spread option attack that Florida runs. They get the ball in the hands of the playmakers as well. The Gators know how to recruit big-time playmakers!"

Jenkins plans to narrow down the field sometime next week.
