Pocic open about the Gators

One of the top prospects in the state of Illinois is Lemont (Ill.) Lemont Township star Graham Pocic. At 6-7 and over 300-pounds he has the kind of size that college coaches are looking for.

When you have size its one thing, but to have the kind of strength that Graham Pocic has makes him one of the top offensive lineman in the country. Pocic benches 350-pounds, squats over 450-pounds and has a 29-inch vertical jump. The four-star lineman took time to update his recruitment.

With no spring football in the state of Illinois, Pocic has been focused on getting bigger and faster.

"I have been lifting and going to speed camp," he said. "I am really trying to improve my footwork. Mainly, it's all been done on the treadmill."

Pocic has also stayed busy with various junior days.

"I have been to Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Purdue," he said. "Last year I went to several games at Louisville, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin."

Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue and Michigan have all offered at this time.

"Coach [John] Hevesy offered me from Florida," Pocic said. "They won the National Championship and have a great team. They have a real fast team with a swarming defense. I am looking for a team that has the best fit for me."

Pocic is not sure if he will make Friday Night Lights, but is heading to Gainesville in June with his dad to check out the team and see what the Gators have to offer.

"It would need to be the right fit for me," Pocic said. "I want to check out their offense and conditioning program and see what happens. I am looking at coaching chemistry, playing time, academics and the strength and conditioning program."

My Take:
Right now, it is hard to imagine Pocic leaving Big Ten country. One good sign is that he has Florida even with everyone else and has yet to step foot on the Florida campus.
