Camp Visits Set

Gerell Robinson from Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton is one of the most sought after wide receiver prospects in the class of 2008. Robinson, 6-4 and 215-pounds, runs in the 4.50 range. Florida, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Miami, Illinois and Georgia Tech are some of the schools that have offered at this time.

Gerell Robinson is the teammate of running back Covaughn Deboskie who is also on Florida's radar. Deboskie and Robinson are both scheduled to be in Gainesville for Friday Night Lights next month. We will have a better understanding of where these two stand after the visit.

Here's a list of activity for Robinson from May 26-31:

  • Talked to Coach John Hevesy from Florida on the phone twice this week
  • Talked to Coach Bill Busch from Nebraska and set an official visit date for September 29 for the Southern Cal game
  • Tennessee official offer came in the mail
  • Washington State offered a scholarship
  • Talked to Coach Tim Kish from Arizona on the phone
  • Met with Arizona State coaching staff
  • Talked to Coach Jappy Oliver from Notre Dame on the phone
  • Talked to Coach I (Rob Ianello from Notre Dame) on the phone for a while and got to know each other

Finally, Robinson has finalized his camp itenerary with visits to USC, Notre Dame, LSU, and Florida.

"Overall, it was a good week and I finally got out of school," Robinson said. "Recruiting has slowed down a little but not much but I'll take it. It is crazy but you take the good with the bad."
