Focused on School

He's one of the top-rated linebacker prospects in the nation, but his focus this summer is on his school work. While most recruits are making unofficial visits this month, Miami (Fla.) Dr. Krop stand-out Etienne Sabino is focused on other things.

"I want to graduate in December, so I've been taking some summer school courses and some night school classes," Etienne Sabino said. "It's making my summer kind of limited, but I'd like to take one more trip this summer. I'm not sure where to, though."

Sabino hasn't hit the road since returning to South Florida in early-June. His campus tour started in Florida for their junior day in April, and he's been to Georgia Tech, Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia among others. He may not be hitting the road, but his process hasn't stopped.

"I'm trying to eliminate some schools right now," he said. "My goal is to have a top-five or a top-10 by the end of the summer."

His list of favorites currently include Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, USC, Notre Dame and Ohio State, but he said it's not a definitive list. More could be added and some could be removed before the end of the summer.

"My final decision will probably be sometime mid-season," Sabino said. "I'm going to narrow down my list before I decide on my official visits, but I‘m pretty sure I want to go out to USC because I haven't been there."

Sabino plans on traveling to Gainesville for Friday Night Lights in mid-July.
