QB Injured

Quarterback Justin Midgett has injured his ankle. At first, they thought it was fractured but he only tore ligaments and chipped a bone. Midgett is committed to Florida.

Justin Midgett was excited about his senior season. The future Florida Gator was hoping for a big year. It almost came crashing to a halt last weekend.

"I ended up tearing ligaments in my ankle," said Midgett. "I also chipped a bone. I was running a quarterback draw and I stiff armed one guy and another put his helmet on my ankle. At first, I thought I just rolled it. Then, the doctors said I may have fractured it. I went to a specialist and took some X-Rays and it came back negative."

Midgett, from Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte High School, has been having treatments twice a day. It will be a game time decision if he plays or not tonight. If not, he will play next Friday, September 27th. This weekend, they face Bayshore High School. His team is ranked number five in 4A. Midgett is committed to the Gators.
