Schwartz Favors Five

Jeremiah Schwartz, from Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater High School, is a 5-10, 228-pound wrecking ball of a running back. Last week, he received a personal message from Gator running back coach Stan Drayton on Friday Night Lights. He also discussed his top-five schools.

Jeremiah Schwartz just completed the second session of summer school and has already taken his SATs. He carries a 3.1 GPA. He will continue his training sessions at the RDV Sportsplex in Maitland, Fla. as well as at school. He has been watching his weight since he went to the U.S. Army National Combine in January and now weighs 228-pounds, down from 248-pounds.

Schwartz received a personal note card and email from Florida running back coach Stan Drayton, which said "I'm ready for you to put on a show at Friday Night Lights!"

Schwartz commented on his top-five schools:

Florida - "Really, like the facility and their traditions. The staff is great and the history and accomplished goals are the highest. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to FNL."

USF - "I have enjoyed my conversations and text messaging with Coach Simmonds and look forward to my visit on July 28. It will give me an opportunity to view the facility and get to know the staff on a personal basis."

Louisville - "I like their playing techniques and their history. I hope to make them one of my official visits and look forward to an opportunity to meet the staff."

NC State - "Recently, they have shown an interest and I hope they will be one of my official visits as well. I have had several text messages from them, but once again, meeting the staff in person and visiting the facility will definitely be a factor."

Colorado - "They have already offered and it is a great honor. I look forward to an official visit and meeting the staff."

Schwartz is leaving all of his options open, it is early in the recruiting process and the continued correspondence and text messages are impressive.

He also received correspondence from North Carolina, Connecticut, Iowa State, Ole Miss, Virginia and Tennessee.
