Committed or Not?

Ramon Buchanan is one of the top linebacker prospects in the state of Florida this year and the Palm Bay High standout addressed the latest rumors about his status.

Ramon Buchanan made a commitment to the University of Miami earlier this month. That hasn't stopped other schools from recruiting him.

"Florida stayed on me and I went to Friday Night Lights," Buchanan said. "It was a good camp but I wasn't the only one committed to Miami. I saw Marcus Robinson and some other guys."

Over the weekend, Buchanan began hearing rumors that he will be switching his commitment. He addressed those.

"I had been hearing them," he said. "Then my coach called me this morning to ask me what's up. I told him. Those rumors are not true. I aint switching. I'm still committed to Miami."

Despite his commitment to the Hurricanes, the talented linebacker still plans on taking a few other visits.

"I'm not sure where I'll go but I'll probably take a few," he said. "I'm committed but I still wanna take a few trips. I'm done with camps and summer visits unless I make it down to Miami."

Buchanan, 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, is being recruited by Miami linebackers coach Micheal Barrow.

"I'm gonna call him later today and tell him what's up," he said.
