Barret Jones Talks Gators

Barrett Jones is one of the top offensive tackles in the Southeast. Jones, from Cordova (Tenn.) Evangelical Christian High School stands 6-5, 270-pounds. Jones talks about Tim Tebow, Phil Trautwein plus his official visit to Florida for Tennessee weekend.

"Right now I have Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and Vanderbilt in my top five," Barret Jones said. "I will make a decision between one of those five teams."

Jones made the trip to Gainesville earlier this summer.

"I was down in Gainesville the first week in June, it was very hot. I had a chance to speak with Coach Mullen and Coach Adazzio. The visit was great. I also talked to Tim Tebow and Phil Trautwein and they were encouraging me to come to Florida. The Swamp was awesome. It's a very cool stadium with a lot of history and it's an exciting place to be on game day."

Jones' meeting with Coach Adazzio was different than most visits he has had over the summer.

"I actually met with Coach Adazzio at the hospital. Coach just had knee surgery and was laid up in the hospital bed. I was allowed to visit him in the hospital because it was on school property. We watched some highlights of practice and he showed me some of the drills the offensive linemen do and I thought a couple of times he was going to come out of the bed he was so excited."

Jones will make his official visit when the Gators begin their SEC season.

"I am going to take an official visit to the University of Florida when Tennessee comes to town. I have watched the games over the last couple of years and I know how crazy that game normally is and I can't wait to be in the Swamp for that game."

"When I find the right fit for me I will pull the trigger," Jones said. "I don't know when that is right now, but when it happens I will know. I am looking for comfort level with the players and coaches and the surrounding areas of each of the teams that I am looking at."
