Johnson Eyeing The Gators

[MEDIA:32874]Daryl Johnson is a super safety prospect from the state of Louisiana that is eyeing the Florida Gators. Right now, he favors four schools.

A prospect that has been climbing the recruiting rankings is New Orleans (La.) Walker High School star Daryl Johnson. Johnson, 6-0 and 195 pounds, plays safety, cornerback and wide receiver. Johnson claims to be averaging about 12 tackles a game and he has already intercepted 3 passes in four games this season. He has also caught three touchdown passes.

"As a defensive back, I just read the play and react," said Johnson. "I like corner and safety and I love supporting the run. As a receiver, I can tell what the defense is going to try and do and I just go out there and try and make big plays."

According to Johnson, he has scholarship offers from LSU, Florida, Miami, Tennessee, Auburn and Oklahoma.

"Those are just some of them. I have over twenty offers. Right now, I like Miami, Florida, Tennessee and Colorado."

Johnson grew up a fan of the Miami Hurricanes but he says he will keep an open mind during the recruiting process.

"I always liked how Miami played. Plus, Reggie Wayne's (former Hurricane) father, Ralph Wayne, used to coach us so I always rooted for Miami. I want to take my visits and just make the best decision for me."
