Gators Reel in Five-Star Prospect

He began leaning towards the Gators during his July visit to Friday Night Lights, but there was one thing missing. He needed mom's approval.

Grace Hill made her first trip to Gainesville this past weekend to watch Florida beat up on Tennessee. And after canceling a scheduled trip to USC this upcoming weekend, Will Hill has decided to be a Florida Gator.

The nation's No. 5-ranked prospect and No. 1 safety made it official in front of a national television audience. Hill will wear the Orange and Blue next fall.

"I'm going to be a Gator," Hill said during his ESPNU announcement. "Coach Urban Meyer and Coach Addazio came to my school and they brought the energy right up to my school."

Hill becomes the eighth member of Florida's recruiting class and the second five-start prospect. He's the second safety to commit, joining Dee Finley and also joins Janoris Jenkins and Jeremy Brown in the secondary.

"It's a real big deal," Hill said. "We want to move on. This step is really going to help us get there."
