Joiner Arrested in Overnight Incident

Florida Gator safety Tony Joiner was arrested on second degree burglary charges early this morning according to court documents.

According to the report, Tony Joiner was arrested by the Gainesville Police Department early Tuesday morning after allegedly breaking into a tow yard. His girlfriend's car had been impounded, and Joiner allegedly tried to break the electric gate and remove the vehicle.

Joiner was charged with statute 810.02.3a, which is a second degree felony claiming the offender breaks into an occupied dwelling with no assault or battery and no weapon.

Joiner had his first court appearance this morning and was released.

He ranks fifth on the team this season with 20 tackles and is the only senior starter on the unit.
