Gators offer Hilton

Ty Hilton used to be one of the best-kept secrets in all of South Florida, not anymore. The multi-talented athlete from Miami Springs High School can play wide receiver or cornerback at the next level, but head coach Alex Pacheco says his star player will excel on the offensive side of the ball.

"I like him at receiver, but as a sophomore, he led the county for many weeks with eight interceptions at corner," Pacheco said. "Oh, by the way, the same year he had over 800 yards receiving. His knowledge of the game is phenomenal. He is also very explosive and knows how to use his blockers. He is a quiet leader and will be missed next year to say the least."

Doc Holiday is recruiting the speedster but the offer came from the head Gator himself.

"Last Thursday (October 11) the verbal offer came directly from Urban Meyer to my ears, within the next few days the form will come," Pacheco said.

For Hilton, he couldn't be happier.

"It was a blessing and an honor to receive the verbal offer from Coach Urban Meyer," he said.

Hilton is 5-10 and weighs 170-pounds and Coach Pacheco thinks he has the ability to run in the 4.3 range. On the year, Hilton has 547 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns to go along with two more touchdowns in the return game.

"I am a playmaker," Hilton said. "I have the ability to go get the ball no matter where it is."

He has offers from Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Florida International. His time is spent mostly on the offensive side of the, ball but when the game is on the line, he makes the move to the defensive side.
