Washington back from Auburn

James Washington II is starting to get some looks from some of the top teams throughout the Southeast. Auburn, Georgia and Florida have all been keeping a close watch on the 6-1, 175-pound junior from Orlando (Fla.) Boone High School. Washington recently took a trip to see the Auburn Tigers.

"On October 27, I went to visit the Auburn Tigers," Washington said. "While there I met Coach Eddie Gran - the running back coach, coach Terry Price and coach James Willis. In Auburn, Alabama, it was fall football weather. The scenery was beautiful and relaxing. The city came alive because the Tigers where playing at home. The campus was great. I really didn't get to tour it much because of all the tailgaters. I had the opportunity to do the "Cat Walk" - when the football players were greeted before they enter the stadium to get ready for the game. The energy was high, the fans were excited to see the all the new prospects and the football team."

"I met a senior from St. Paul's, which is located in Mobile, Alabama and he plays DB. He was a cool kid. Jordan-Hare Stadium is crazy when all the fans are cheering for their team. It's a nice environment. Auburn runs a zone blocked offense. An offense that I love to run. They used their three RB to get the job done. They are Lester, Tate and Fannin. Auburn is ranked No. 3 of my top five teams. I am looking forward to my official visit with them."

The Auburn staff will be on hand Friday night for the Boone/Dr. Phillips showdown to watch Washington and make one last ditch effort for corner back Jeremy Brown.
